I love this author he was very formative for me even if I didn't make it through Infinite Jest. I read all his other essay books and I just picked up a copy of
The Pale King which was his final book he didnt finish before he cope-rope'd.

I've only read consider the lobster I think (the collection not just that one piece); I get why people poke at him but honestly his style is enjoyable in my opinion; it's a lot but it's very tasteful. but again I haven't read jest, who knows what my takeaway would be if I tried

A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men are both great essay compilations as well. probably one of my favorite ones is the one interviewing David Lynch on the set of Lost Highway / general talking about Lynch and movies; the way he (Wallace) tears apart Quentin Tarantino is priceless

The Broom of the System was his first book and really odd in an indescribable way. but i always liked his writing style and the way it makes my brain feel
