guess I'll start: children of time by adrian tchaikovsky. great sci-fi novel from the past few years. (it's been a while since I've really dug a new one. I think the last one was blindsight by peter watts.) it's a deep time story, brilliantly handled. and one of the great first chapters.
there are two sequels; imo, better to pretend they don't exist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
